The Kunstmuseum's depot is home to a historically important collection of musical instruments. I have taken this collection, which has not been accessible to the public for over 20 years, as the basis of my exhibition. I selected a number of instruments from the collection and presented them in an exhibition space. The instruments were positioned on a sta≠ge and on shelves on the walls. The presentation architecture is my own design.

The stage functions both as pedestal and podium. Musicians appear on it to play my compositions on different instruments. The instruments played can also be found in the collection and some are actually historical instruments from the collection.

In the depot, where the instruments are stored, I made a number of video recordings. These recordings resulted in a 4-channel video work. It is a portrait of the collection. This portrait is presented via four monitors positioned on the stage.

For “Sounds Good” I wrote six new site-specific instrumental works. These compositions were performed for both a live audience as well as recorded separately on video. The recordings, which constitute an independent work, are also shown in the exhibition.
