An ensemble of one violinist is created through the recording of four separate concerts, three of which are public performances.

The first evening is a rehearsal where Lenka improvises based on a graphical score I composed for her. The rehearsal is recorded.

On the second evening, the first one with audience, Lenka responds to the recording from the previous evening. The rehearsal performance is seen on a monitor and heard over a loudspeaker. Lenka responds to her own playing. This concert is also recorded.

The third evening features Lenka with two monitors, each depicting the previous performances. The loudspeaker plays the improvisation from the previous evening. The performance is recorded.

The fourth evening features three monitors and a recording of the trio from the previous night. Lenka now plays the lead in a quartet. This process could theoretically go on ad infinitum.
